Dante Basco

DanteDante Basco is Hollywood actor, writer, poet and producer, who career has spanned two and a half decades.  He became a pioneering figure in Asian American cinema with his introduction in Steven Spielberg's fairy tale movie, "Hook," as Rufio.  He quickly jumped to leading roles like "Take the Lead", opposite Antonio Banderas, and "The Debut," which became the voice of a Filipino American generation.   Movie studio 20th Century Fox signed him up to a development deal for his own series, and he starred in a pilot, "The Chang Family Saves the World."  He is the founder of one of the largest weekly poetry venue in the country, "Da Poetry Lounge" in Los Angeles, appearing on Russell Simmons' HBO Def Poetry Jam.  In 2012, he founded of his own production company, Kinetic Films, and released its first online project, "Hang Loose".
